Crossing the Threshold Retreat
Each day we are invited anew to reflect on how we are being called to a deeper transformation, a change of heart. This retreat experience, which includes input, prayer, reflection time, and conversation, focuses on the impact that transition and change have on our lives. Life itself is forever changing, but as individuals we encounter significant transitions like growing older, dealing with health issues, losing loved ones, facing unemployment, having children move away, or responding to aging parents. We also experience changes in our church, country, world, and universe that impact all of us. This retreat experience looks at the choice we face - to resist change in search of certainty and safety, or to embrace the pain of the unknown, trusting that our loving God and the support of others will help us to "cross the threshold" into the new life of resurrection.

Contemplative Leadership, Part III: Grounding our lives in daily practice
When we are caught up in the speed and stress of active lives, we can lose contact with our deepest selves and our ability to serve others with courage and compassion. To bring peace to our communities, each of us must cultivate inner peace, stability and self-awareness, by committing to daily contemplative practice. This one-day retreat, shaped by Benedictine values, offers an opportunity to explore the rewards and challenges of such a practice. Session activities, including facilitated discussion, lectio divina, meditation, writing exercises, and small group dialogue, will draw upon the wisdom of scripture, contemplative models, and the Rule of St. Benedict.

Participation in the previous retreats is not a prerequisite. Please register early; space is limited and names may be added to a waiting list.
