The Gift Shop at Shalom Prayer Center features many books on a variety of spiritual topics such as monasticism, prayer, saints, mystics, spiritual direction, personal growth, grieving, and transitions.
Reviews of books may be seen in our printed calendar. CD's of music are also available. Specialty items made by the Benedictine Sisters include afghans, rosaries, and Monastery Mustard. We also sell the Trappist Fruitcake and Brigittine Fudge and Truffles. A large selection of greeting cards is available made by the Benedictine Sisters as well as from the Printery House of Conception Abbey in Conception, Missouri.
Gift Shop Nurtures the Spiritual Journey
Our gift shop carries an ample selection of books on Benedictine life, Scripture, spiritual direction, and Christian spirituality, as well as items handmade by the Benedictine Sisters, including Monastery Mustard. These items are now available: exquisite handmade rosaries by Sister Mary Blanche Smith, OSB; the Benedictine Sisters' history, A Tree Rooted in Faith, by the monastery's historian and archivist, Sister Alberta Dieker, OSB, A Stranger in My Skin - An Unconventional Path to God by Sister Jill Aigner, OSB, first administrator of Shalom Prayer Center, and many prayer shawls and scarves by Sister Marietta Schindler, OSB.
